Mini Heeler Rescue Operation

March 2025

Over 70 Dogs Saved

On Friday March 20, 2025, Freddie B's Furry Friends Rescue 501c3 non-profit took on what was supposed to be ONLY a courtesy transport for a rescue out of Montana of about 20-25 mini Heelers from a breeder seeking help...well, it unexpectedly turned out to be much more than that...

The situation ended up being Freddie B's Furry Friends Rescue’s first major rescue operation where over 70 dogs were relinquished to Freddie and his team of volunteers and rescued from the hoarding situation, and with the help of several other rescues that came to our aid, placed them in loving foster homes pending being put up for adoption.

The dogs listed here are the ones in our foster care awaiting their Forever Homes, with more to be listed once they’re altered/ready for adoption.

All dogs available for adoption are fully microchipped (Freddie B’s Furry Friends Rescue), vaccinated, and altered.

When filing out the Adoption Application/Questionnaire, indicate where requested the name (if one) and ID # of dog your interested, or indicate “no preference.”

All submitted applications will be reviewed by our team of volunteers, along with the respective dog’s foster, and the top three best matches will be chosen for the next step, which will be the in-home Meet & Greet; a short phone interview prior may be conducted.

This is Dash - an open door and he is off and running boy. Loves to be outside to run and play. Great with the other dogs. Chases cats but that has subsided as he’s gotten used to them. Doesn't know a lot yet but very smart and he has caught on to the routine very quickly. A little anxious of anything new. He is shy at first but warms up quickly.

Richard

Richard may be an older guy but he still has his spunk. He loves doing what heelers do best and herd when he gets the chance. He isn’t a snuggle bug and just likes being around. He is loyal and is one that believes in stranger danger. He isn’t one to share his food with other pets.

Rocket

Small but Mighty, with a Heart Full of Loyalty

Like the Rocket we know from Guardians of the Galaxy, this little pup is clever, curious, and full of spunk. But behind all the playful energy and quick thinking is a tender heart that just wants to belong.

Rocket is always observing, always thinking, figuring out the world one sniff at a time. He’s resourceful and independent, often solving little puzzles on his own (like how to sneak a sock off the couch), but it’s not just about mischief. It’s about connecting, being part of something, and finding his place in the universe…right next to you.

He may act like the tough guy of the bunch, but it’s just his way of feeling safe. Beneath that spirited spark is a gentle soul who bonds deeply, loves fiercely, and always comes running when you need him most.

Rocket isn’t just a clever pup, he’s a survivor and a snuggly little star in the making. He’s ready to take on the world, as long as he’s got his person by his side.

Drax

The Destroyer of Squeaky Toys

This pup may be small, but don’t be fooled, he channels big Drax energy. Like his namesake, he’s got muscles (okay, baby muscles), unwavering loyalty, and a surprisingly sensitive soul beneath that tough exterior.

Drax the fictional warrior is known for his literal mind, fearless strength, and deadpan delivery, and this little furball? Pretty much the same. He charges headfirst into every adventure, stares down the vacuum cleaner like it owes him money, and takes his playtime very seriously. Subtlety? Not his thing. Cuddles? He is learning to love them. And yes, he will give you side-eye if you try to pick him up when he’s not in the mood.

Gamora

Sweet, Shy, Smart

Inspired by her namesake from Guardians of the Galaxy, this pup carries herself with quiet confidence and unshakable grace. Gamora is strong-willed and determined, with a gaze that says she’s always thinking and always watching. There’s wisdom in those eyes, even if she’s still growing into her paws.

Gamora is resourceful and independent, often content to explore or rest nearby on her own. But don’t let that fool you, she longs for connection. Though she may not be the first to rush in for attention, when she chooses you, it’s forever. Her loyalty is deep and unwavering, and her affection is the best!

Gamora may be a bit of a lone wolf, shaped by an early sense of self-reliance, but she’s learning that home doesn’t have to be a place, it can be a person. A gentle touch, a reassuring word, a shared moment… and she’s yours.

A warrior at heart, a companion in spirit, Gamora is the kind of pup who will walk beside you with silent strength and soft devotion, every step of the way.

Aspen

Calm and Soft Hearted

Hello, my name is Aspen. I am a calm, quiet, scared blue healer. I am good with dogs as long as they are not scary or aggressive. I was at the bottom of the pecking order and am scared of other dogs my foster brother (golden retriever) ignored me for 2 days and then I slowly started to trust him, and we are friends and play now. I am good with my foster sister Goat she is 9 pounds, and we co-exist well. I am not as good with my foster sister cat. I want to follow her around and sniff her but when I get in her face, she spits at me and then I get scared and get aggressive. I may be ok with another cat that would let me push them around and not get grumpy. I am still scared of my foster people (foster dad, mom and human child age 8) I like to follow them around but and still really scared of being touched I will tolerate it and will go touch them (lick hands feet) I am happy to see them come home and will even jump on them but am still afraid that they may hurt me. I do not mind the small human running around and do not chase or heal her. I do not heal the goat or my dog sibling.  I will eat in my crate and go in there sometimes on my own, but it takes a lot of patience and understanding for me to go in on command. I do well on a leash but off leash could be a run risk due to fear. I am looking for a home that will understand I’m scared and love me for who I am. I will use the dog door and do pretty good with my going potty outside this is also a new request of me.

Quinn

Softhearted and Loveable

Quinn is such a sweet girl. She loves getting pets and is getting braver everyday about jumping up in laps and asking for love. She LOVES the flirt pole and treat toys. She is smart and picks up on things quickly. We believe she is just under a year and that she will be a year in May. She enjoys playing with her foster brother Buck (70 lbs Mix Breed) and is a bit scared of new sounds like the blower on the gas stove and water running in the pipes. However, she is a ball of puppy energy. She walks well on leash and goes out on one for each potty break. She is needing patience and understanding as she navigates her surroundings at first bit once she settles she steals uour heart. She is doing well with potty and crate training however, she doesn't like going in on her own. She does have a prey drive and hearding instincts as she uses it in play with Buck and the flirt pole. If someone new approaches she does tend to grumble and then run to hide behind the recliner. She would do well with a small and quiet family who has patience and energy to play.

Lucy

Sweet Playful Love Bug

If you want a pint-sized BFF – this is your gal. She wants nothing more than to sleep, sit, or walk by your side. Shy at first, she opens up quickly, She even now is taking treats from neighbors on our walks.

She is currently living with 3 young cats who still like to play. When the cats chase each other, Lucy tries to join in – which can get her hissed at, maybe even swatted at. But when the cats are lounging, they all coexist.
